John Jay is an illustrator based in New York City. He studied illustration at F.I.T. (Fashion Institute of Technology) where he got his BFA degree. He later continued his studies at the School of Visual Arts. His work has appeared in several major publications as well as advertisements and promotions from the U.S. to Canada and Japan. He is known for his versatility and his ability to capture motion and inject life into his subjects. His work was recently published in a book titled “The Big Book of Fashion Illustration“. John Jay is also an adjunct professor at the illustration department of Fashion institute of Technology and the fashion design department of Parsons New School.

Austin Briggs ( 1908 – 1973 ) was a cartoonist and illustrator. Born in Humboldt, Minnesota he grew up in Detroit, Michigan before moving to New York City as a teenager. After working for a while at an advertising agency, he became an assistant to the cartoonist Alex Raymond on Flash Gordon and succeeding him on Secret Agent Corrigan. In 1940 he drew a Flash Gordon Daily strip which he stayed on till about 1944, when he moved into illustrations for books and magazines such as Readers Digest and The Saturday Evening Post. He was one of the founding faculty for the Famous Artists School. In 1969 he was elected to the Society of Illustrators’ Hall of Fame.
