Begonnen op 23 augustus 2004 en nu bijna 3 jaar en 1026 dagen verder de duizendste post. Dat is dus, zoals het met een weblog hoort (bijna!) iedere dag een stukje. Om de duizendste post een beetje te vieren, is er vanaf vandaag een nieuwe categorie bijgekomen over animatie en tekenfilm. Het is een van mijn passies waaraan ik zijdelings al eens aandacht heb besteed. Maar in de toekomst dus meer. Door de opkomst van Flash is animatie gedemocratiseerd en kan iedereen tegenwoordig thuis achter de computer animaties maken. Daardoor is er ook groeiende belangstelling voor de geschiedenis van de animatie. Omdat ik graag afstand houd, ook in de tijd, ga ik vooral aandacht besteden aan animaties uit het zgn. ‘gouden tijdperk’ 1940 – 1960. Maar om te beginnen een flash back naar een post van anderhalf jaar geleden: de grappige Flash animaties van Steve Whitehouse. En aandacht voor een bijzonder boek: Cartoon Modern van Amid Amidi.
