Het is een verademing om naast alle CGI-animatiefilms van de laatste vijftien jaar weer eens het echte handwerk te zien. Voor de productie moest uiteraard wel gekozen worden voor een niet-arbeidsintensieve stijl. Het was een prima keuze om de strakke en geabstraheerde figuratie in de stijl van Charley Harper te combineren met sfeervolle en poëtische achtergronden in waterverf.
